Ink Tree
理念 / This poster, which is inspired by traditional Chinese ink paintings, is meant to be recognized at first glance as something Chinese, but when taking a closer look, the viewer gets to notice it’s not one of those pretty ink paintings, but rather a horrible view. Instead of leaves, the tree has organs, and instead of roots, corpses. And not just any corpses; former prisoner’s corpses. This disturbing image is meant to represent the even more disturbing and unacceptable reality that China is living right now and that most people don’t know about; illegal organ harvesting. Hopefully, the viewers, once they realize the poster is really about Chinese prisoners being murdered to extract their organs, will be troubled and upset enough to inform themselves about the topic and to help make it stop.
